Promoviendo la integración entre los ecosistemas forestales, el agua y la sociedad
La realización conjunta de la 5° versión de la Conferencia IUFRO y el 2do Congreso Latinoamericano Bosques y Agua ayudará a vincular el desarrollo dinámico en los ecosistemas forestales de América Latina a una comunidad global dedicada al estudio de los cambios en el medio ambiente, los bosques, las plantaciones forestales y el agua.
Con este propósito se reunirán entre el 5 y 9 de noviembre de 2018 en la Universidad Austral de Chile expertos en hidrología forestal, manejo de cuencas, eco-hidrología, clima y cambio climático. El evento está organizado por la UACh, el Centro de Ciencia del Clima y la Resiliencia, INFOR, IUFRO, Fundación Forecos, entre otros.
Esta reunión conjunta ayudará a vincular el desarrollo dinámico en los ecosistemas forestales de América Latina a una comunidad global dedicada al estudio de los cambios en el medio ambiente, los bosques, las plantaciones forestales y el agua. La conferencia proveerá de un foro de expertos en hidrología forestal, manejo de cuencas, eco-hidrología, clima y cambio climático. De esta manera, promoverá el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias en las áreas de investigación, políticas públicas y participación ciudadana, permitiendo a la vez el desarrollo de colaboraciones de investigación a nivel internacional
Objetivos
- Promover la ciencia como base para el desarrollo sustentable de los ecosistemas forestales (incluyendo bosques nativos y plantaciones), recursos hídricos y ecosistemas acuáticos en un contexto de cambio climático.
- Analizar las oportunidades y desafíos de utilizar la Agenda de las Naciones Unidas para el 2030 como guía para este desarrollo en todas las regiones del globo.
- Vincular la ciencia con actores sociales y tomadores de decisiones en estos ámbitos en el contexto de América Latina, a través de promover el diálogo y las redes de colaboración que involucren a académicos, industria forestal, sector público y actores locales
