Alumnos y profesores del Liceo Benjamin Vicuña Mackenna Realizan Jornada de Limpieza del Humedal Krahmer

Actividad fue organizada por el Liceo Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna y Junta  de Vecinos Kramer, invitando a Enrique Cruz de FORECOS a conversar sobre la importancia de los Humedales Urbanos

El día Martes 28 de noviembre se realizó una jornada de limpieza del Humedal Urbano Krahmer  que contó con la participación de Alumnos y profesores del Liceo Benjamin Vicuña Mackenna y vecinos del sector. Enrique Cruz, Director Ejecutivo de FORECOS, vecino del sector y miembro de la Red Ciudadana por los Humedales de Valdivia, estuvo conversando con los estudiante  y profesores respecto a la importancia de conservar, restaurar y limpiar los humedales urbanos. Conversamos de los diversos servicios ecosistémicos que proveen los humedales a la ciudad y sus habitantes como son la regulación de las inundaciones, regulación de las temperaturas y el ruido, el filtrado y purificación del agua, y la oportunidad de generar áreas de esparcimiento y recreación en los alrededores de estos ecosistemas que son relicto de diversas especies que aún habitan la ciudad como el nuco, la rana chilena y  el roble  entre otros.

La mayoría de la basura retirada eran plásticos, cuadernos, papeles, ropa y otros escombros que pueden ser reciclados o dispuestos en relleno sanitario o vertedero.  Por lo que hacemos un llamado a  reducir, reciclar, reutilizar de manera de minimizar los desechos que generamos y por ningún motivo botarlos en los humedales, bosques,  orillas de río  u otros ecosistemas que nos protegen de las inundaciones y mejoran nuestra calidad de vida.

Agradecemos la invitación a conversar estos importantes temas y  sobretodo el esfuerzo de los alumnos, profesores y vecinos en la limpieza de este importante humedal urbano de nuestra ciudad.
