Los vecinos piensan en la ayuda que necesitarán para proteger lo plantado, puesto que a los árboles, les tomará alrededor de 50 años en consolidarse y alcanzar la madurez
En dos jornadas de plantación realizadas el 9 y 30 de agosto, el Ministerio del Medio Ambiente, junto a la Fundación FORECOS y el Centro Transdisciplinario de Estudios Ambientales CEAM, plantaron más de 3500 árboles nativos, como coigües, robles, lingues, laureles, canelos, luma, melí, avellanos, murta, chilco, calle calle, ulmos y olivillos en el marco del proyecto: “Implementación de Acciones de Restauración del Humedal Urbano Angachilla, Región de Los Ríos”.
El 30 de agosto la actividad tuvo lugar en la entrada al humedal, frente a la Villa Claro de Luna. Participaron en esta ocasión vecinos del lugar y organizaciones de ciclistas como enbicia2, Agrupación en Dos Ruedas y Acción Eco-social, esta última agrupación desarrolla un proyecto de valorización de los humedales urbanos, organizando cicletadas constantemente en Valdivia.
La Seremi del Medio ambiente, Carla Peña comentó que “el principal objetivo de este proyecto era iniciar proceso de Restauración en el Humedal Urbano del Sector de Angachilla y sus alrededores, a través de la implementación de medidas de manejo y restauración en el corto, mediano y largo plazo, para que de cierta manera podamos asegurar un provisión constante de servicios ecosistémicos, y con estas acciones concretas de restauración vamos encaminándonos a este gran objetivo”, afirmó la seremi.
Germán Travieso, Asistente técnico de la restauración en Angachilla indicó que lo se busca con estas acciones es: “lograr que el entorno natural genere sus propias herramientas para recuperarse e iniciar su largo camino hacia un estado maduro, en donde también se espera que maduremos nosotros como sociedad, principalmente respecto a temas medioambientales”.
Por otra parte criticó la actitud de muchos jóvenes que no valoran los espacios naturales y los utilizan como un lugar para beber y dejar los desperdicios en el mismo humedal; “Es muy común ver latas de cerveza y plásticos de los famosos “six pack” en lugares muy bonitos”, enfatizando en una de las problemáticas del sector.
Cabe recordar que el Humedal Urbano Angachilla es un ecosistema que ha despertado el interés de protección, a través de una comunidad empoderada y organizada que viene generando acciones para proteger este humedal a partir del año 2007 y que actualmente se constituyen en el Comité Ecológico Angachilla, así como otras instancias de organización.
